CHARTS
Sometimes charts
are needed by the teacher
to supplement his actual teaching.
There are certain charts where in the
interior of something is depicted eg. Various Systems of human body, internal combustion engine, motor car etc. Following
points should be kept in view while using charts
as teaching aids.
An effort may be made to use charts
prepared by students under the guidance of the
teacher, however some charts may be purchased. Duly such charts may be purchased which have bold lines and in which such colours are used as
could be seen and distinguished even by the back-benchers.
Charts should give only the essential
details.
Charts should be properly
and clearly labeled in block letters.
TYPES OF CHARTS
Usually the following types of charts are mainly used for instructional purposes.
Tree charts
In these charts the material is
presented in the form of symbolic presentation through roots, trunk, branches and leaves of a tree. They represent an
effective way of showing the development or growth
of a thing.
Flow charts
These charts represent
the systematic arrangements showing trends, movements and organization.
Time charts
Such charts are used to
indicate the chronology of a series of events or to arrange chronologically those happenings important
to the development of a process.
Issues charts
These charts are
especially used for highlighting the contrasting
views of individuals or
organizations on important
topics or issues.
Pictorial charts
These charts demonstrate
the conventional or symbolic illustration of topics that are being taught by the teacher.
